Generator: A generator is a machine that produces electricity. The term also refers to generation companies, which produce electricity to sell in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Gigawatt (GW): A measure of electricity equal to one billion watts.
Gigawatt hour (GWh): One billion watts used for one hour.
Greenhouse gases: Gases that prevent heat from escaping from the atmosphere.
Grid: The transmission and distribution network over which electricity moves from suppliers to consumers. Also see Network. |
