Product information statements

Guideline 19 outlines our obligations to provide our customers with easily accessible product information statements. Product information statements present a summary of the tariff terms and conditions applicable under the standardised, generally available rates.

Product information statements vary depending on your distributor and your type of meter. To help determine whether you have a single rate or two rate electricity meter, you should consult your most recent electricity bill. If only peak usage is measured, it is a single rate meter. If peak and off peak usage is measured, it is a two rate meter.

Network Tariff Rebate Withdrawal from 31 March 2008

The Victorian Government has confirmed that the Network Tariff Rebate (NTR) previously available for outer-metropolitan and country areas in Victoria has been discontinued from 31 March 2008. This rebate was introduced by the Victorian Government to subsidise the higher cost of transporting electricity over longer distances. The rebate was payable to domestic and small business electricity consumers who consumed less than 160 MWh per annum.

Customers who have previously received the NTR on their bill will receive their entitled NTR for electricity usage prior to 31 March 2008 that was apportioned to the amount of electricity consumed. For any Powerdirect Victorian customers who have received the rebate on subsequent bills, Powerdirect have undercharged your bill with this rebate and will be adjusting payment on the next bill to rectify the amount undercharged.

For more information on the removal of the Network Tariff Rebate please see Network Tariff Rebate Withdrawal or contact the Department of Primary Industries on 131 186 or email customer.service@dpi.vic.gov.au.
