Powerdirect adopts ENVI, the first Australian-made, greenhouse friendly, carbon neutral paper

Electricity retailer Powerdirect has moved their customer communication letters to Australia’s first carbon neutral paper, ENVI.  Parent company AGL started making the switch in July, to contribute to achieving the utility’s sustainability objectives.

Executive General Manager, Jim Henneberry of ENVI producer Australian Paper, says most Australian businesses acknowledge a responsibility to minimise the social and environmental impact of doing business.

“With the ENVI innovation, Australian Paper can demonstrate carbon neutrality, and the benefits of that achievement can be passed on to businesses like Powerdirect who take up the ENVI opportunity”, Mr Henneberry said.

Powerdirect General Manager, Mark Brownfield, said “Shifting to greenhouse friendly paper  demonstrates Powerdirect’s commitment to tackling sustainability issues.  Not only are we maintaining quality print materials, but it is one more way that we can show our support as a business making an effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.”

“Powerdirect and AGL have a strong commitment to excellence in environmental management and performance,” said Mr Brownfield.

ENVI paper is certified by the Australian Government’s Greenhouse Gas Challenge Plus Scheme.
